Orihime's mistake

Orihime's character earned a lot of haters because of her role at the HM arc, especially, because of her famous so called mistake that she have done at the Dome. The famous "Kurosaki kun, help me" speech from Orihime towards the half dead Kurosaki kun, whom she claimed to love for Five Lifetimes. Many people felt disappointed in her behavior towards the person that she claimed to love for her Five different Lifetimes. However, when I came to analyze that particular scene,I came to wonder...was it really the MISTAKE that she have committed at the Dome scene?

I'll try to explain my own interpretation regarding this...

First thing we need to consider is,remember what is she doing before she cried for help...

Then when she couldn't think of anything, she did these.

AS you can see,Orihime is thinking of a way how she can save and help Kurosaki kun in his current condition.Unfortunately, she became frantic with the situation they were in,and started panicking because Shun Shun Rika isn't working on him.She couldn't bear to look at him like that,it was overwhelming, she didn't know what to do anymore, nothing comes from her mind, she totally lost it.Judging by the situation, the moment she said "Kurosaki kun, help me"...Orihime doesn't mean help,as in save her (like most of the readers have interpreted that scene). What Orihime meant during that time is,help her think of a way how she can save Kurosaki kun, because she couldn't think properly.Out of so much despair,Orihime cried for a help, she didn't mean it.At that time,no one is there to listen to her problem,Ishida is fighting with Ulquiora, and she was there alone with the half dead Kurosaki kun.Actually,Orihime is not calling him (Kurosaki kun),she was just uttering his name over and over, until it became unable for her to handle, and voiced out her thoughts (uttering his name),followed by the words "help me" (the thing that she needed,at that very moment). I remember someone said that KT chose to write Kurosaki's name in hiragana, and not in Kanji form, which indicates that Orihime is just uttering (syllables?...there is no meaning on it,something like that) his name,in that case...Orihime is definitely not calling out to him.In other words, that scene doesn't prove that she didn't love Kurosaki kun, because she really does, that's why she became frantic. Therefore, that behavior from Orihime,is just the result of her real mistake.

Plus,what Orihime realized here was....

She realized that Kurosaki kun might have heard her,(because she unconsciously voiced out her thoughts) so he tried to help her,and is there suffering even more (to regain his control). The thing that Nel told her at the chapter "Jagulator",she told Orihime, that Itsygo is suffering.Judging by the situation, she really end up relying onto him (asking to help her think of what she should do,not as in save her),when she unconsciously voiced out her thoughts, she realized that as well. The result of her POV towards him,she always look up to him,she always thought he can handle everything,so when she was searching for an answer to her problem,he's the one who came out from her unstable and troubled mind, because he is the one who always saves her day, forgetting that he's the same person, who needs the help that she was asking for,at that crucial moment.

Now that I have explained my interpretation regarding that topic, let's now think...if Orihime's cry for help is not the MISTAKE that she have done at the Dome, then what could it be?

This is the turning point of this essay...

After analyzing everything, here are the things that came out, from my own observation with the manga...

Orihime's real MISTAKE is this...

Orihime, didn't try to HELP him, from the start (before he become irreparably hurt),so she can prevent him from hurting so much.

Because she didn't help him,who knows? the situation might turned out in a different way.Kurosaki kun might not reach that condition, that she was unable to heal him anymore. If Kurosaki kun didn't reached that condition, she didn't have to panic while thinking of a way how she can help him,and if they weren't in that situation, she wouldn't cry for help (towards him?),like what happened at that very moment. If she didn't cry for help,Kurosaki kun don't need to force himself to stand up,though he was already at his limit,so he wouldn't be there suffering even more. These are the things that she realized, after seeing that Kurosaki kun is suffering, that's why, after learning her mistake, this is her resolve...

See now?...she said that because she have already made that mistake at the Dome (letting Kurosaki kun to be irreparably hurt),and she didn't want that to happen again.

True that she didn't have the kind of DEMEANOR that fits into fighting, but still, she could have think of something to help,to prevent him from HURTING.The thing that Rukia tries to do,when she was the RESCUEE.Rukia tried to PREVENT him from being HURT even more than he already was, because she didn't want to see him in any WORSE condition...

most especially, after seeing him like this.......

Rukia knew that Ichigo,is definitely STRONG,yet she also KNEW that he was not INVINCIBLE (no one is INVINCIBLE). The reason why she kept on scolding him, when he came to the SS and tries to save her, though she have already told him that she'll never forgive him if he does.Rukia KNEW that Ichigo would definitely face a lot of PAIN,if he tried to save her,it's true....but those are only part of the reason why she wanted him to leave her,and save himself. The reason actually,is simply because she didn't want to see him HURTING even more.Look at what happened to him...even though he was STRONG,he still ended up badly injured (standing in front of her, which makes her even more WORRIED for him). Is it all because of her battle experience?Absolutely NO.Anyone (even with no BATTLE EXPERIENCE) is capable of thinking that no one is INVINCIBLE,it's a FACT.

Those are the reason why I actually brought up Karin and Yuzu. Both are YOUNGER than Orihime, and both of them DEFINITELY doesn't have BATTLE EXPERIENCE either. The reason why they didn't asked for help,is not because they aren't looking at their brother's corpse,so they might not be that frantic. It wasn't because they didn't want to drag him with their situation, either (like someone said that "She's 15 and living a normal life. She can't handle these things - You're comparing a guy who can see ghosts, a ghost slayer, a big guy who can fight like a tank, and a spirit herself to a normal 15 yr old with esteem issues.")and(Again, for the rational minded, it's better not to drag someone down with you when it's at that level.)Contradicting his/her own argument, does Orihime crying for help isn't something that implies DRAGGING SOMEONE DOWN WITH YOU,WHEN IT'S AT THAT LEVEL?Orihime, might still be fine, and wasn't dying like Karin and Yuzu (so they shouldn't drag down Ichigo with them?),but I have a question...Do you see Ichigo's condition?THE GUY WAS ALREADY DOWN,and she was crying for him to help her (again,I don't think that was the case there),don't you think that's even something WORSE?Karin and Yuzu, didn't asked him to HELP them, because they KNEW that their brother is not INVINCIBLE,and they knew that it's impossible for him to defeat something like the MONSTER that attacked them (Karin can see the hallow),because he's just a human (he's not a shinigami yet).

Oh, so you're comparing sisters who're being attacked by things they can't see to a 15 year old who's being locked away in an alternate dimension, forced to do just about everything they say, and going to watch her friends die. Oh and, she's being physically and mentally abused during the process. Yuzu, again, is mature for her age, taking on the chores her mother used to do and sticking the family in place. Wittle, wittle Yuzu loves her bro bro very much, has no idea what's going to happen.---->post by IH?

Yuzu being matured because she takes the chores since her Mother died? :p (oh my). Isn't Orihime living on her own since she was a kid?Don't you think Orihime is supposed to be more matured, since Yuzu  still have her Dad,Brother Ichigo (protective),and sister Karin, whom she can RELY on?,compared to Orihime who was an ORPHAN? (¬__¬)

Do you realize it now?None of those excuses can justify Orihime's behavior at the HM,because it wasn't the reason why she behaved like that.

* * * * *

Did you know that KT have created a numerous amount of build ups for this particular scene in the manga? If you haven't noticed,it all started from the very first volume of the story.Surprised?...I think so ^.^

Here are the supporting events that KT have prepared for this particular scene.

Orihime's feelings and POV towards Kurosaki kun
Orihime's LOW SELF ESTEEM

After creating all those build ups,KT began connecting them all together at the HM arc,in order to justify Orihime's behavior at the Dome.

How did he do that?

First,KT used the Arrancar arc as the turning point of the events that will take place at the HM arc.

After the fight with Yammy,Kurosaki kun became very depressive because of the guilt that he felt, for not being able to protect his friends.Orihime,as a person who have a romantic feelings towards Kurosaki kun,she didn't want to see him in that condition, yet, she couldn't do anything to cheer him up,which made her even more lonely.Afterwards, she witnessed Kurosaki kun's expression the moment he saw Kuchiki san once again (happy). Then, she saw that, after Kurosaki kun talked with Kuchiki san,he finally came back to normal (the thing that she wanted to do for him,but she couldn't).This is where Orihime's LOW SELF ESTEEM concerning Kurosaki kun's attention, started to develop. As a person who loves Kurosaki kun romantically, her wish to be noticed by him,was shattered by the thoughts of Rukia's huge importance to Kurosaki kun.

Now,I am going to show you,how those feelings affects her way of thinking, and dealing with Kurosaki kun at the HM.

Look closely,please ^m^

Orihime's fail #1

* Nakamas invasion at the HM *

The effect of Orihime's LOW SELF ESTEEM (caused by Rukia's huge importance to Kurosaki kun) first appeared, the moment she heared the news, that her nakamas (including Kurosaki kun) invaded HM.Orihime didn't expect them to come, she didn't understand why they came there...that's why,she reacted this way...

Because of Orihime's LOW SELF ESTEEM (comes from Rukia's huge importance to Kurosaki kun),she became unable to realize that she was important to him as well, though in a different way.She failed to realize that she was also important (nakama) to him (them),and because she was important to him (them),they will definitely come and save her,no matter what. The same as what he did for Rukia, the one who changed Kurosaki kun's world. The thing that she realized here...

Inoue : Maybe,it's impossible to feel exactly the same way as another person (they may not have the same feelings *for each other,or towards anything*),but it's possible to people,to care for one another (they can still feel the CARE for each other)

She finally realized,that...even though Kurosaki kun might not see her in a way that she wished him to be,(to be the person that she wanted to be,in his life),he will still TREASURE her,at least as a NAKAMA.

Orihime's fail #2

* GrimIchi fight *

Do you remember?Orihime have actually thought of preventing Kurosaki kun from suffering even more, when she saw his condition here...

Notice that Orihime did think of protecting Kurosaki kun (the thing that she wanted to do,that's why she trained to become stronger)...That's why she did this...

However,Kurosaki kun asked her this...

The thing that she was unable to do (OPPOSING him, because she likes him *her way of dealing with Kurosaki kun's behavior*).Not only that...the moment Kurosaki kun told her this...

Because of her POV towards Kurosaki kun,she tend to believe that he can handle everything, though she was worried for him,she chose to believe the Kurosaki kun in her POV.Look at what she said here..

Because of her POV towards Kurosaki kun,the moment he said those words,Orihime tends to believe that Kurosaki kun will definitely win,he can never be defeated. As a result, all her thoughts of helping him, suddenly fades away. However, that is only the beginning of everything...

The problem actually,is this...

The moment Orihime saw his hollow form, she got scared, why?please read here for more explanation.Because Orihime likes Kurosaki kun, which started from a mere crush, and gradually grown deeper and turned to admiration, she began wanting to be noticed by him. Therefore, after seeing Rukia's huge importance to Kurosaki kun, that wishfull thoughts was easily shattered. As Orihime's hope to be noticed by him was shaken, she became too focused on her desire to be noticed by Kurosaki kun (in a romantic way),the reason why she didn't see that Kurosaki kun was sad and hurting (during GrimIchi fight). She failed to see that there's something bothering him,so he might not be able to concentrate in his fight, which will make him unable to defeat the enemy,in other words,Kurosaki kun needs help.Because of her wish to be noticed by Kurosaki kun (that was shattered by the thoughts of Rukia's huge importance to him),the moment she looked in his eyes, what she tried to see from them, was her reflection (is he seeing her, does he recognize her?),instead of looking if he's just fine,or what could be wrong about him.

True that she relate him with her brother,but...

Did you see that?she wasn't afraid of him during that time, even though she was powerless, and was still 15,without BATTLE EXPERIENCE either, and that was the first time she was being attacked by a hallow. She just definitely acts in a different way when it was with Kurosaki kun.

Orihime's fail #3

* UlquiIchi fight *

On their first match,Orihime was there watching at the sideline. The first time Ulquiora fired a cero towards Kurosaki kun,she didn't try to help him...therefore,when Kurosaki kun was hit by the cero,he became unable to move, and unable to dodge the second attack,in which Orihime have decided to help him.

From there,we can see that Orihime did try to protect Kurosaki kun, once again, though she never thought about it from the very first attack (because of her POV about him),she still did think of helping him. However, the moment Kurosaki kun said this words again...

Orihime, though she was worried about him (it's obvious in her expression),chose to believe that he'll be just fine without her, helping him.Again, because of her POV towards Kurosaki kun,she thought that he'll be alright,so she left his side, and obeyed his order for her to stay back...she even said that honestly here...

From there,we all knew what happened next. The tragic moment of Ichihime at the Dome.Everything that happened at the HM,was the result of Orihime's unusual POV towards Kurosaki kun,and her LOW SELF ESTEEM (because of Rukia's huge importance to Kurosaki kun).

Based from those part of the story that I have shown you,it's clear that she have the ability to help him (putting the shield when Ulquiora attacks Kurosaki kun). From there,it was clear that she can help him, even without fighting,so her demeanor that doesn't fit into fighting cannot be used as an excuse for her mistake.

Orihime's biggest mistake

Because of her way of seeing him,she didn't think of helping him.Because of her wish to be noticed by him (romantically),she didn't see him suffering.Orihime realized this things. If she only didn't look away from him,if she only tried to help him from the beginning (the reason why she trained to become STRONGER),maybe those things wouldn't happen to him (lying half dead on the ground),maybe Kurosaki kun won't be in that condition,at the very least.

Since she didn't try to HELP him,he was severely INJURED,and is lying HALF DEAD on the ground, the thing that made her PANIC,the reason why she's gone to her DESPAIR,the thing that leads her to cry "Kurosaki kun,HELP ME!...is it getting clearer now?

What I am trying to explain here is,those are the actual reasons, why those things did happened at the Dome.Ichigo lying half dead on the ground, and Orihime cried for HELP.Judging by the build ups that were made by KT,where does the argument that she behaved that way because, she was only 15,and doesn't have a demeanor that fits into fighting, and most importantly, because she doesn't have (enough?)BATTLE EXPERIENCE,unlike Rukia...did GO?

There is only one truth, and that is simply she didn't try to help him,and PREVENT him from HURTING even more than he already was...that's why, after learning her MISTAKES,she said this....

See?...the MISTAKE that she have done,is letting Kurosaki kun to be IRREPARABLY HURT,before she thought of HELPING him (when it was already TOO LATE).

Now that I have explained my POV regarding this....I want to ask everyone...

Inoue made a MISTAKE,given...Does the readers/fans have to RUB it on her face, over and over,as if she's not going to be capable of doing something right anymore?(it's a normal thing...nobody is PERFECT,everyone makes a MISTAKE). As for her fans,is it hard to ACCEPT,that she really made a MISTAKE?do you really have to think of any EXCUSES, for her behavior?

In any case,I suppose it's good to remember this words from Mayuri.

Based from my OWN observation to the MANGA and the FANDOM,it seems that people are FOCUSING too much on Inoue (not KT,as the way they used to think). I think I can clearly see why...

Most IR's (not GENERALIZING) : are FOCUSING too much on her, because they are waiting for her to make a mistake, and PROVE that her LOVE for Ichigo is NOT REAL.One thing I want to ask,how can that give your PAIRING a BIG PLUS/potential?Let's put it this way...Inoe's love for Ichigo is NOT REAL,and it was PROVEN in the manga, does that mean that Ichiruki will PREVAIL?IDTS...How about Rukia?Does she really loved Ichigo?and what about Ichigo, does he really have a romantic feelings for Rukia?See?...I suppose,if you really wanted to see if they really have the chance to become a COUPLE,the things that you have to FOCUS on,are their INTERACTIONS,find the hints that they might really in love with each other.Focusing on the other characters that have a romantic feelings for either of them,is just a waste of time.

NOTE : If the character is not the INTENDED love interest for the protagonist,no matter how TRUE,how POWERFUL,and admirable their LOVE for the protagonist really was...they will definitely end up UNREQUITED,simply because, they aren't the INTENDED love interest for the protagonist.

for the

Most IH's (not GENERALIZING) : The same thing can be said for your PAIRING.Focusing too much on Rukia,or rather should I say....trying so hard to PROVE that the Ichiruki PAIRING  is just plainly PLATONIC,it will never help your pairing to PREVAIL either.Let's say, they are PROVEN to be plainly PLATONIC,does that mean Ichihime will PREVAIL? The answer is absolutely NOOOOOOOO!!! Why?True that Inoue have already said that she loves Kurosaki kun,but how about him? does he have the same feelings for her?See?...First thing you have to do,is to find the PROOFS that he might reciprocate Inoue's feelings for him.

Phew..that was very long,eh?

  1. Your essays are astounding, your assertions and commentary all have a basis in your abundance of evidence. You literally, refute nearly every single ichihime proof there is and counter. Plus, your not too biased, there is not such thing as completely neutral, but you sure try and not let it influence you. Great work *flashes thumbs up*

PS: You could improve your essays if you try and use proper grammar and syntax structure. Psychologically, readers will be more inclined to believe your assertions if you sound cultured and sophisticated, this denotes intelligence and insight-fullness. Try not not use such words like "LOL" "NooooooO!!!!" or the like.

    Cheers

  2. One last thing, it is not 'hallow' its hollow. The Hallows are the 'Elder wand,' 'the resurrection stone,' and the invisibility cloak.

    Cheers

  3. Thanks for the information about the HOLLOW,^.^,and for the proper grammar,I really thought I have to,it's just that,I wasn't that good with English,I only knew few words to use.In fact,I originally wanted to write everything in a hilarious way,but I thought I might sound offending to anyone,so I chose to be a bit serious as I can ^.^..

Really thanks for the helpful information you have told me,I do really appreciate it.Actually, this kinds of comments are the ones that I liked the most, because it can help me improve my way of writing...so,thanks again ^.^

  4. I know it's been a while since you wrote this, but I would like to say thank you for your amazing analytical work!I believe that the most difficult conflicts Ichigo faces are internal, because the actions and decisions he takes are to prove his self-worth. Like, he need to prove to himself that he can be the person he wants to be, and be the protector he aspires to be. I could write an essay about it (but I'd rather not at the moment)...but hopefully the broad idea comes across. ^_^;I personally am an Ichihime fan (even though I agree with everything that you've written, although my preference is personal taste), but in the end I always tell myself that whatever KT plans for the ending will be great!

  7. No it wasn't very long and I see where all this comes from, thank you.(I adore Orihime and Ichigo and respect Rukia too ,I am also an Ichihime fan)
The Not generalizing part for both fandoms near the end is so very true.I was falling into that category once but I see no point into being in that anymore. This helps us understand the mistake as well, only one thing is off for me calling it a fail feels like provoking the fans.It was ,an inadequacy of Orihime,a weakness that grew stronger but calling it a fail is a bit harsh. That's all though.

  8. I agree about the fail part, that's why I am trying to re-write some of my essays.I'm not to good with words,so I apologize ^.^'>

I'm really thankful to those who'd tell me where I came off, thanks for the honest review.
