Ichigo's way of reacting and behavior when facing his problems_Part 1

            Ichigo is someone who really,really wants to protect,it was in his character.In fact,Ichigo will definitely reacts immediately,and is getting angry,every time he sees someone getting hurt,even if they were a stranger,or even an enemy.Read here,to see how he usually behaves,when someone is getting hurt.

            In this essay,I am going to elaborate,how Ichigo behaves and reacts,according to who is the subject that he needs to protect.

Problem : Ichigo's nakama is kidnapped,how did he behaved during their rescue?

            Rukia's arrest vs Orihime's abduction

Problem : Ichigo's guilt for Rukia's execution vs Ichigo's conflict with his hollow

            Ichigo's problems : SS arc vs HM arc

Problem : Ichigo is losing a fight,he needs a reason to win.

KenIchi fight at the SS

            Ichigo is taken aback after failing to cut through Kenpachi's skin.He was so surprised that he didn't even managed to give him a slightest scratch,even though he have put all his strength in his first attack.How did Ichigo reacted with this problem?

            Ichigo began to panic and run away,to clam himself,he got scared of Kenpachi's strength.However,the moment he sensed this...

What is Ichigo's reaction to this?

 

            Ichigo gained his determination to win,and made him able to cut through Kenpachi's body.However,his determination wasn't enough to give him strength,and be able to defeat Kenpachi.How did Ichigo gained enough determination to win this fight?

It was because of this...

            Ichigo thought of his goal,which is to save Rukia,and is so persistent to refuse his death,and is forcing himself to stand up,and continue fighting.I'm pretty sure,everyone knew already what happened next?In case there some of you might have already forgotten this scenes,I suggest to read the Dark Side Of Universe chapter.From there,you can see that Ichigo's strong determination to save Rukia,made Zangetsu to materialize,a phenomenon that usually takes 10 years or more to achieve.After putting all his determination to win this fight,because he really wanted to save Rukia,Ichigo won this fight with just one last swing of his sword.

Somehow,I remember the same situation at the HM arc...

GrimIchi fight at the HM

            Ichigo is also losing in this fight as well,just like that one with Kenpachi's.The only difference is,in KenIchi fight,Ichigo got scared of Kenpachi,while in GrimIchi's fight,Ichigo is scared of his hollow,because he thought he may lose is friends,once they find out about it.What is the thing that gave him the determination to win?

            Yup! I am saying that Ichigo did get some determination from Orihime's "Don't get yourself hurt anymore" speech,however,it was just the same with Ichigo's situation during his fight with Kenpachi,where Ichigo did gained some determination as well,after sensing Chad's fading reiatsu,and remembering everyone that was also fighting behind him.Unfortunately,just like how it didn't gave him enough strength to defeat Kenpachi,Orihime's "Don't get yourself anymore" speech,didn't gave him enough strength to defeat GJ as well.And what is it that made him won that fight?

            Ichigo won that fight,after admitting his true intention,which is to avenge Rukia's injuries.Read here for more detailed explanation about that fight.

            Both fights are won,after Ichigo thought of Rukia,don't you find it interesting?Though the HM arc,should be Ichihime?

Problem : Enemies attacked Ichigo's nakamas,and he failed to protect them

YamIchi fight

            Ichigo is so angry,after seeing Chad and Tatsuki's condition,when he arrived at the scene.The only one who was left standing was Orihime.Ichigo fights against Yammy,in order to avenge his nakamas injuries,and to protect them.How ever,the hollow is trying to interfere with his fight.How did he reacted?

            Ichigo,is shoving the hollow off him,he was rejecting his hollow.As a result,Ichigo lose his concentration with his fight,and failed to protect his nakamas...how did he behaved after that fight?

            Ichigo,fall into despair.No one can cheer him up,he couldn't bear the guilt of not being able to protect his nakamas.Since then,Ichigo never went to his shinigami form,ever again.

GrimIchi fight : Ist round

            This time,Rukia is the one who was hurt by the enemy,namely Grimmjow.How did Ichigo behaved,during their fight?

            This time,Ichigo uses the hollow's technique,which is,the black Getsuga Tensho.Despite the fact that,he was so adamant to refuse on relying to his hollow's power during his fight with Yammy,here he is,suddenly using the hollow's technique,because he was so desperate to defeat GJ.Ichigo,this time,is very much aware of the fact,that he was risking his opportunity of getting devoured by the hollow.Don't believe me?

            Even though he knew that he might get devoured by the hollow,Ichigo still uses his moves,in order to defeat GJ.Also,this time,Ichigo isn't totally knocked out,until GJ needs to leave him,because Tousen intervened.On the other hand,Ichigo was totally knocked out,after fighting with Yammy.Don't tell me that Yammy is stronger than GJ,that's why he was totally knocked out by Yammy...

Look closely...

            Ichigo is supposed to be stronger than what he have shown,when the hollow tried to interfere.However,because Ichigo don't understand the hollow's motive for interfering his fights,his attention was divided in shoving him off,and fighting with the real enemy,which caused him the failure to protect his nakamas.

            Now,let's move on to the topic about,how did Ichigo reacted after being defeated by GJ?Ichigo felt that he lost completely.Did he fell into his despair as well,just like how he behaved after his fight with Yammy?The answer is..NO.

   
            This time,Ichigo never falls into his despair.The moment that he failed to protect Rukia,Ichigo's immediate reaction,is to go to Hirako and train,to become stronger.Although,we can also say that Ichigo have decided to take some action,after realizing that he really needs to do something about the hollow inside him,when he failed to protect everyone.However,even before his fight with Yammy,Ichigo have already knew that he really needs to take some action,to get rid of his hollow,but he didn't do it,even after getting defeated by Yammy...Read here for more explanations regarding this.

Problem : Nakamas were in danger,how does Ichigo behaved?

Let's start with this one.

            I know that everyone knew this scene,right?It was from the SS arc.Ichigo sensed Byakuya's reiatsu,but,the moment that Yoruichi said that he was at the Senzaikyuu (where Hanataro and Ganju were heading to),Ichigo reacted immediately,and made his way to come and save them.That's right,the reason why Ichigo came there (at the bridge),is to save Hnataro and Ganju from Byakuya.

Suddenly,the moment that Ichigo arrived there,he was so surprised to see this...

            Ichigo didn't expect that he'll see that Rukia was there too.He was so surprised and overwhelmed by the sight in front of him,that he couldn't speak to Rukia,right after landing in front of her.Ichigo still needs to collect his cool,to be able to talk to her.And Ichigo ends up saying this...

            However,there's another problem,Ichigo is still not ready to fight with Byakuya,he still needs to get stronger,in order to defeat him,that's why Yoruichi came to take him back.Because of this,Ichigo got furious towards Yoruichi for leaving Hanataro,Ganju and Rukia.That's right,Ichigo is so worried for all of them,however,when Yoruichi told him that she can only save one person,what is Ichigo's immediate decision?

            Ichigo never hesitated,he never even had a second thought about his decisions.The moment he heard that only one person can be saved immediately,he chose Rukia straight ahead.Ichigo didn't chose Ganju,though he was the one who was on the verge of dying,by that time.Is it because,he thought that the SS is after her?Even so,Ganju is in the state of emergency.Does that mean that Ichigo doesn't care about him and Hanataro?The answer is definitely ,NO.The only thing is,Ichigo is definitely,and is obviously prioritizing Rukia's safety.Ichigo,just want to make sure,she'll be safe,but his decision also means,that he'll stay with Hanataro and Ganju,so he could protect them,proving that he cared for them as well.

Somehow,it's kinda similar with this...

            Ichigo felt Chad's fading reiatsu,he needs help,but he was on his way to rescue Orihime,she also needs help,isn't that is the reason why they came there in the first place?And what is Ichigo's reaction to this problem?He needs to chose,who is he going to save first...

Ichigo,decided to do this...

                                                         

            Ichigo,hesitated a bit,but then,he decided to continue on his way to save Orihime,and believe that Chad will be alright.However,another problem comes along...

 What is Ichigo's immediate reaction to this?

 

            Ichigo decides to turn back for her,right away,which is completely different from Chad's.Ichigo,at that time didn't chose to believe in her,and carry on with his mission to rescue Orihime.I said that this is similar to Hanataro,Ganju and Rukia's situation at the SS,in which Ichigo needs to chose which one is he going to save first,only this time,KT made him chose between Chad,Orihime (who are a very close nakamas) and Rukia,but still,Ichigo chose the same person.

            This scene,is one among a lot of scenes from the manga,that is being interpreted in many different ways.Some people are implying,that this proves that Ichigo doesn't believe in Rukia's ability,because she is just a woman,compared to Chad.I came to wonder...really?Even after knowing how she defeated Dei-Roi within just a few seconds?The one who almost killed Chad,if he (Ichigo) have arrived,several seconds later?Obviously,Ichigo is pretty much aware,that Rukia could actually be stronger than Chad,besides,Chappy have already told him that Rukia is as strong as a seated/ranked shinigami.On the other hand,some people are saying,that Ichigo only decided to turn back for her,because Ulquiora told him that she's already dead,unlike Chad?Seriously?their reiatsu are both fading,obviously,Chad is on the verge of dying as well.I wonder if those people skipped this panels?

            This is just simple.Ichigo couldn't wait any longer,before he came to save her...Ichigo couldn't keep his patience,just like how he behaved,when he felt Chad's reiatsu is fading as well.Does this mean,that Ichigo didn't care about Chad?Definitely,NO...

            Ichigo never forgets Chad...(Rukia is the first,among the ones that Ichigo said,that he'll bring back with him).

Problem : Split the group

            Some people are saying that it's not fair (again) to compare the two split ups,because the situations are different?Really?I do not see the difference from there...oh wait,there is,right?

It was this...

            Both times,they thought of sticking out together.Only,at the HM arc,Rukia is the only one,who suggested to split the group,and Ichigo reacted to her suggestion,furiously.Why?

Because of this...

            At the SS,Ichigo didn't want to split the group,in order to protect everyone,as in all of them.There's no indication,or no one ever mentioned,that Ichigo didn't want to split the group,because he wanted to protect someone in particular.This is completely different from his behavior at the HM.Ichigo at the HM,didn't want to split the group,because he wanted to keep an eye on Rukia,so he could protect her.There's no point in denying this,since it was blatantly confirmed in the manga.

Note : There's some person who wanted to downplay this behavior from Ichigo towards Rukia.That certain someone is reacting to someone's assumption,that Ichigo wants to keep Rukia beside him,so he could protect her.The said person,is saying that Ichigo really doesn't care for Rukia,because if he does,why would he keep her beside him,though she'll just suffocate from Ichigo's vast amount of reiatsu?On the other hand,Ichigo is always telling Orihime to step back,because he knew she'll be suffocated with his reiatsu.Really?

            I really didn't want to sound rude,but...does that person understands his/her own argument?He/she only made it appear,how much he/she wanted to try seeing the obvious,in different way.

            Ichigo wanting to keep Rukia beside him,doesn't mean anything in literal way.What his actions and words really meant was...he wanted to keep Rukia within his view range,so he could come to her rescue,in a faster way,in case that things went wrong for her,unlike when they split the group,he wouldn't be able to come to her immediately,just like how things turned out,when he felt her fading reiatsu.Ichigo,had a hard time reaching out to her,because she's too far.Because she was too far from him,Ichigo faced a lot of interference,like Ulquiora and GJ wanting to fight with him so eagerly,before he could go to her.
